Guide to Old Town Kissimmee (with video)

Old Town Kissimmee is a great way to pass an evening if you are travelling to Orlando, but you can spend a whole day there as well if you want to do everything in this guide, including shopping, rides, activities, and restaurants!

I’ve walked through the main street of Old Town in a 360 travel video below. Started at main road and Ferris wheel and walked all the way past the stores and to the rides in the back.

Down below I have a comprehensive list of every store and ride and restaurant in Old Town, and will highlight my favorites.

Guide of things to do in Old Town Kissimmee

They are located right off the main highway on 192 near Disney.

They are open every day from 10am- 11 pm and have over 600 spots for parking, but please note that in evenings with special events the spots do fill up.

And its FREE to get in.

It’s called Old Town because it’s a recreation of a historic Florida town with classic and distinctive buildings and storefronts. And perhaps harkens back to a time when life was simpler.

They have 70 different storefronts along the way here and lots of variety of things to do.

Where to stay

Due to its location right near Disney there and multiple places to stay nearby right off of 192.

Disney Springs is close by and I have a guide and video on things to do there.

Also there are hotels and resorts immediately adjacent and walkable right next to them such as :

Comfort Suites Maingate East – at back, next to parking lot and next to Fun Spot.

Celebration Suites – at front entrance on main road.

Shopping in Old Town Kissimmee

True to their Old Town brand they have multiple shops that cater to retro themes such as Wound ‘N Round which features the forties, fifties and sixties, to Old town General Store with “back-in-the-day” gifts, to the Groovy Store for a throwback to the sixties and seventies.

If you want Florida and Disney gifts you can visit Annie’s Store.

They also have a cultural diversity of stores with Eastern Asian goods at the Lucky Mouse and British souvenirs at British Isle Connection.

Black Market Minerals has a variety of gem and fossil gifts, and you can even buy a bag of dirt to mine for your own in the wooden sifter with running water outside. This is one of my favorites and it’s in the video.

You can even get your caricatures drawn, or get a henna tattoo, or make your own wax hands!

They even have an Old Town Portrait Gallery with several hundred different types of historical costumes.

Rides in Old Town Kissimmee

Old Town has their signature Ferris wheel right at the front of the property and a classic carousel in the back.

Rides

  • Ferris Wheel: Custom made ride from Italy
  • Fun Rides: Ride around on specialty designed mini-vehicles
  • Hangman Challenge: Hang for 2 minutes and win cash
  • Hurricane: Five stories tall, triple out-and-back coaster
  • Rock O Plane: Ride on suspended cars attached to a wheel
  • Spinning Coaster: Cars rock back and forth as you spin

However, most of the rides are run by the adjoining Fun Spot America.
It includes a large roller coaster called the Mine Blower, and for the ultimate thrill seekers they have the Skycoaster which stands 300 ft and feels like jumping out of a plane!  They also have kid friendly rides as well.

Buying the day pass there includes all the rides at Old Town and starts at $55 for the whole day or you can buy individual tickets for the rides.

There are both weekly events as well as events depending on the season.
All year around there is karaoke on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
There are themed and live events by bands as well as seasonal such as Halloween Thriller Nights.

Classic car show at Old Town Kissimmee

One of the main entertainment draws is the classic car shows.
It’s every Wednesday and Friday and then also the famous cruise down the brick streets of Old town on Saturdays featuring shows quality cars pre 1985.

Visit an old time arcade experience at Happy Days Family Fun Challenge and play video and skill games for prizes.
