All of these can be used for any 360 camera whether it is the Insta 360 One X2, X3, or RS 1 inch edition or even the GoPro Max ( just need a cheap gopro adapter for 1/4″ screw)

I bought many selfie sticks and use different ones depending on whether I’m travelling and want to pack light vs local and want interesting shots with an extended selfie stick. And tripod legs make them even better.

Review of the Invisible Selfie Sticks

Insta360 2 in 1 Selfie Stick

Insta360 2 in 1 vs Best360 selfie sticks fully extended

This is what I use on my travels and is my favorite. It is the bottom one in the picture above.

The Insta360 2 in 1 Selfie Stick is a great choice for your 360 camera. This selfie stick is a monopod, but also has a built in tripod which makes it very versatile. It has an ergonomic design which makes it comfortable to hold, and its lightweight construction ensures you won’t get weighed down as you take your photos.

And since the tripod is built in rather than added on, it collapses to a shorter length than a combo stick and separate tripod.

I never have to worry about the tripod getting loose, and I can always quickly set up the camera as a tripod without having to find and attach it.

Insta360 Invisible Selfie Stick

The Insta360 Invisible Selfie Stick is the most popular Insta360 branded one since it comes included in a lot of bundles.

This selfie stick is designed to be as discreet as possible so as not to interfere with the 360-degree view of the camera.

It’s also lightweight, durable, and compact, making it perfect for outdoor adventures and travel. And it’s cheap.

They also came out with a longer version which doesn’t cost that much more, but is still small and compact and can also be used with a tripod to get a better height.

You can see the 2 lengths above in chart.

This is the one on the far right in the top picture.

Insta360 Extended Selfie stick

With an extended reach, it’s perfect for capturing aerial views and group shots. Basically it is a drone replacement for places you cant use a drone or you dont have one.

#NoDroneNoProblem

Despite its length, it remains fairly stable and secure. Made of sturdy yet lightweight materials, it’s easy to carry on your adventures.

While it may appear in your shots if fully extended ( if it bends), the extra reach is often worth it.

Using an extended stick for 360 cameras offers several benefits. It allows users to capture shots from higher vantage points, reach over obstacles, and expand their field of view for more immersive shots.

There are 2 Insta360 versions of the stick and I have the skinny longer first edition. They both extend to about the same length.

The newer one is wider and shorter so easier to pack and is also made of carbon fiber so stays more rigid when extended at full length so better chance of remaining invisible in shot.

GoPro Max Grip + Tripod

Another option for a selfie stick for your 360 camera is the GoPro Max Grip + Tripod. It’s primarily designed for GoPro cameras, it also works with any 360 camera. ( You would need to buy a 1/4″ screw add on )

The grip is wider than Insta360 selfie stick, so although that may make it easier to grip, it also makes it pocket unfriendly and base may show more since it is wider instead of being completely invisible.

It also comes with a built in tripod, which can be very useful if you want to set up your camera for a time-lapse or a group shot.

Insta360 2 in 1 invisible selfie stick regular on left and mini on right

The mini is designed to be as versatile and convenient as possible. It comes with a “gopro” type mount with an attachable 1/4″ mount. This way, you can use either device on the same selfie stick without having to switch accessories.

It is smaller and thinner than other selfie sticks, and thus easier to carry around, even in your pocket. However it isn’t as sturdy, so probably wouldn’t recommend for action shots.

Probably better to use as just an extended grip or to place as stand on flat stable surface.

Best360 monopod and tripod

This monopod is designed specifically for 360 cameras from the ground up and is the most premium (including price) of the bunch.

With five sections and twist locks, it offers stability and easy adjustment.

One notable feature is the counterweight and stand, which provide additional stability. And its available in both carbon fiber and aluminum alloy editions.

And it pairs well while filming mounted on backpacks made specifically for 360 cameras due to its counterweight that adds stability, which I talk about in that linked article. ( see picture above of backpack with strapped in Best360 selfie stick)

Selfie stick goes invisible with 360 cameras

Insta360 X3 video with invisible selfie stick I took in Tokyo

An invisible selfie stick works with a 360 camera by taking advantage of a blind spot in the camera’s design. The stick is not actually invisible, but it appears that way in the final photos and videos.

The trick is achieved through software stitching, where multiple shots taken from different angles are combined to create a seamless 360-degree image. The selfie stick is carefully positioned and edited out during the stitching process, giving the illusion of an invisible support.

This effect is only possible with a 360 camera due to the nature of its wide-angle lenses and the blind spot they create and with the help of the software in the stitch line.
