Accessories you need for Insta360 360 camera in 2024
My guide will walk you through the essential accessories for your Insta360 360 camera.. including many that are even compatible with other brand 360 cams as well.
I have been using 360 cameras for many years as I travel, and have tried multiple accessory brands and options.

Selfie Sticks: Monopods and Tripods
Monopods, the ‘invisible selfie stick’, has become a staple for 360 content creators and gives the illusion of a floating camera.
Insta360 2-in-1 Selfie Stick
This is my favorite, and is the one I take on my travels due to its versatility.
The Insta360 2-in-1 Selfie Stick is a versatile accessory for shooting. It functions as both a handheld monopod and a tripod, allowing creators to switch effortlessly between dynamic on-the-go shots or still and time-lapse captures.
Its telescopic design and sturdy build make it easy to use and pack, while remaining discreet in 360 shots.
Its full extended length is about 4 feet.
There is also a mini version which is better suited for stationary or slow movement due to being lighweight and thin, such as setting on stable table or just using as a grip.

Insta360 Extended Edition Selfie Stick
This how people shoot “drone shots” with a selfie stick and 360 camera.
The Insta360 Extended Edition Selfie Stick is perfect for capturing dramatic shots from high angles. With a greater reach than standard options, it allows you to capture wide-angle views and footage from above the crowd at almost 10 feet fully extended.
“No drone, no problem” : If you dont have a drone or in areas where drones arent allowed in cities and parks, this is a great way to get the drone type shots.
Insta360 recently made a newer one being thicker but retracts to shorter length and made with carbon fiber.

Insta360 Suction Cup Mount
For those looking to record videos from their cars or any smooth surface, the Insta360 Suction Cup Mount is an essential accessory.
The 3 suction cup mount pricey side but is best way to protect your camera and keep it stable compared to the single suction cup mounts, especially at faster speeds or rough terrain. I don’t have the 3 cup version but you can check out options via the link below.
Insta360 Quick Release Mount for your selfie stick
The Insta360 Quick Release Mount is built for speed and efficiency, allowing content creators to attach and detach their X3 quickly without fumbling with screws or bolts. ( as you can see in my picture below)
This will make your life much easier when switching your camera from a selfie stick to another mount, which I do all the time while travelling.
Insta360 Monkey Tail Mount
The Insta360 Monkey Tail Mount provides great versatility for mounting. See it in action below.
Its strong, flexible design allows it to wrap around objects , offering unique camera angles that traditional mounts can’t achieve, or useful if there is no flat surface for a tripod.
You can even hang in upside down on a tree branch and the 360 cameras horizon leveling will flip picture around and in proper level.

Camera Protection
Insta360 X3 Lens Guards
The very design that allows 360 shots – the protruding lens – also makes these cameras particularly vulnerable to scratches and impacts. The introduction of lens guards is a saving grace for content creators, protecting delicate lenses from the rigors of on-the-go shooting.
But, it’s not without its trade-offs; lens guards can sometimes fog up or catch glare, depending on conditions, which could affect the clarity of the final footage.
Personally I dont use lens guards because I’m mostly just walking around tourist areas. However for action sports such as skiing and biking, it may be more important to use them.

The Insta360 Dive Case
Dive cases are specially made for your specific 360 camera and are not compatible for others. Here I talk about the latest dive case for the Insta360 X3.
The newest model allows divers and aquatic adventurers to plunge even further — rated for depths up to 50 meters (164 feet). Its new lock seal mechanism ensures a watertight defense while swimming around or even more forceful dives into the water.
The anti-fog design promises crystal-clear footage, and it got rid of the prior versions nadir blurriness due to case shape.
Although the Insta360 X3 is rated as waterproof by itself, I wouldnt use it for any forceful movements such as diving or fast boating without a dive case. Without a case I only dip it in the water and have never had a problem just doing that.

Make sure you don’t miss anything with the Insta360 360 camera spare battery. It’s good to have an extra battery so you can always take pictures and videos, even if you’re out for a long time.
