Tour Hofburg Palace

The Hofburg Palace, also known as the Imperial Palace in Vienna, was once the seat of power for the Habsburg Empire. It served as the imperial home and center of government from 1273 to 1918, when the Empire dissolved.

It is now the official residence of the President of Austria. Today, it continues to be used as an important hub for state ceremonies and events as well as a popular tourist attraction.

The Imperial Palace in Vienna has been a major part of Austria’s history since the Middle Ages. It began as a medieval palace in the early 14th century and was eventually transformed into a royal residence of the Habsburg dynasty which became the center of the Austro-Hungarian Empire by the mid-19th century.

Following its decline following World War I, the palace was restored to its former glory and opened up to visitors in 1918.

Its rich history can be seen throughout its many attractions, from baroque decorations to opulent hallways that were once used by royalty. Visitors today can explore all that this remarkable structure has to offer and gain an insight into Austria’s long and colorful past.

I’ll be adding a list of tours you can take when you visit Vienna yourself after you get inspired with the 360 VR video!

One of the most prominent statues in Vienna is the equestrian statue of Erzherzog Karl, located at the Hofburg Palace. The majestic bronze sculpture is of Archduke Karl, a Habsburg leader who served as Commander-in-Chief of the Austro-Hungarian Army during World War I.

Standing 8.7m tall, it symbolizes his courage and honor and serves as a reminder of Austria’s past greatness. The statue stands tall amidst beautifully manicured gardens of Heldenplatz.

That is the statue above with Rathaus in the background. I cut out all the tourists below and got this great horizon shot with autumn leaves in Volksgarten!

From sculpted representations of Emperor Franz Josef to an imposing bronze statue of Roman goddess Victoria, visitors can explore a number of intricate artworks as they wander through the park.

In my video you will see the fall colors in the garden and throughout.

Be enchanted by the Rosengarten in Volksgarten! This beautiful garden, found just off of Vienna’s Ringstrade, is a must-visit for anyone visiting the city. You’ll be captivated by the fragrant aroma of over 2000 rose varieties and their stunning colors. There’s also a variety of other flowers, shrubs and trees to explore, along with art pieces and sculptures.

Theseus Temple

The Theseus Temple is a stunning monument found in Vienna’s Volksgarten. This ancient structure was constructed to honor the mythical hero Theseus for his heroic deeds. The temple is made of white marble and features several Doric columns that adorn its facade.

Inside, visitors are treated to beautiful frescoes and sculptures depicting Theseus’s adventures fighting the Minotaur and slaying other monsters throughout his legendary journeys.

Innerer Burghof

The Innerer Burghof, located inside the Hofburg Wien complex, is a beautiful and historic courtyard. Overlooking this grand square are stunning Neo-Baroque buildings that date back to the 19th century and feature impressive sculptures and arches.

Nestled in the midst of the Innerer Burghof courtyard at Hofburg Wien is a grand statue of Emperor Franz I. Erected in 1835 to honor Austria’s first Emperor, this bronze monument stands 12 meters tall and features two emperors riding on horseback.

Situated to the east of the Innerer Burghof at Hofburg Wien is the grand and historic Schweizertor (Swiss Gate). This impressive gate was originally a fortified entrance designed to protect the complex from potential invaders. The former sentry post contains two statues of Austrians defending their homeland, as well as a giant archway featuring intricate sculptures and coats of arms belonging to various imperial families.

Pay a visit to the Mozart Monument and be dazzled by this tribute to Vienna’s most famous musical resident, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart! Located in Burggarten, the monument was erected to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth.

The sculpture depicts Mozart as he once appeared at the height of his career – with a score in his left hand and conducting baton in his right, facing forward with a determined look on his face.

See the striking grandeur of the Statue Kaiser Joseph II. Located in Josefsplatz, this impressive equestrian sculpture stands as a testament to Habsburg rule. Commissioned to commemorate Emperor Joseph II’s reign over Austria and its territories, the statue was designed and constructed by French sculptor August Proschowsky between 1768 and 1771.
